Nabilone is a prescription medication used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy in people who have already taken other medications to treat this type of nausea and vomiting without good results.

Nabilone belongs to a group of drugs called cannabinoids. These work by affecting the area of the brain that controls nausea and vomiting.

This medication comes in capsule form and is taken up to 3 times a day, during a cycle of chemotherapy, with or without food. Nabilone can be taken 1 to 3 hours before the first dose
of chemotherapy and may be continued for up to 48 hours after the end of the chemotherapy cycle

Common side effects of nabilone include euphoria (feeling ""high""), vertigo (a sensation of motion or spinning that is often described as dizziness) and dry mouth.

Nabilone can also cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how nabilone affects you.
