Dr. Zubair obtained his degree in Dentistry from Khyber Medical College in 1989. He was the best graduate for that year. After completing his house job he proceeded to Ireland in 1991, where he obtained FFDRCS in Oral Surgery in 1994.

As to get fully trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, it is necessary to obtain Medical degree beside dental qualification, Dr. Zubair applied for admission in Trinity College medical College, University of Dublin in 1995. He obtained MBBCh; BAo in 1999.

Following his house job in Limerick Regional and Cork regional Hospitals, he was accepted in Basic Surgical training programme of Royal College of Surgeons. After completing his rotation in Sligo General Hospital Dr. Zubair obtained FRCS in General Surgery in 2002.

After 22 months as Registrar in Oral and maxillofacial Surgery in St. Jamess hospital, Dublin He was accepted for higher Surgical training programme in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery run by London Deanery under auspices of Royal College of Surgeon of England.

As a part of his training Dr. Zubair worked in Ipswich General Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Guy Hospital, St. Georges Hospital and Barts and London Hospital. At completion of his training he obtained Intercollegiate FRCS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2009. Following which his name was included on GMC specialist list in UK.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is a surgical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of disorders affecting the facial structure (skeleton) including jaws and the oral cavity. Some of the common facial surgical problems are impacted teeth and dental implants, oral cancer, salivary gland disease, facial fractures, tumours of the jaws etc.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of RCD is a state-of-the-art department that is run by highly trained and dedicated surgeons as well as equipped with advance technology. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the only surgical specialty that requires dual qualification in medicine and dentistry. Maxillofacial surgery is a very rare specialty being practiced in Pakistan.

He was appointed as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Kent and Canterbury Hospital, UK in April 2010.

He finally joined RMI in August 2011.

Head and Neck Cancer
We are a major centre for Head and neck and cancer and also benign lumps and bumps of head and neck region. A group of cancers that starts in the mouth, nose, throat, larynx, sinuses, or salivary glands. Symptoms for head and neck cancer may include a lump or sore that does not heal, a sore throat that does not go away, trouble swallowing, or a change in the voice.

Symptoms:
A lump in the nose, neck or throat, with or without pain. A persistent sore throat. Trouble swallowing (dysphagia) Unexplained weight loss. Frequent coughing. Change in voice or hoarseness. Ear pain or trouble hearing. Headaches.
