Life after HIPEC
Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) is a process in which heated chemotherapy is pumped directly into the abdomen after surgery. The total recovery time is 3-4 months. The hospital stay is 7 to 10 days.
Early walking is encouraged to prevent complications after the procedure.
Not only rest is important, remaining as active as possible is also important.
Most of the patients can go back to work in about a month, as long as the job doesn't include heavy lifting.
