Lhermitte-Duclos Cerebellar Gangliocytoma
Lhermitte-Duclos is an extremely rare disease where people develop cerebellar tumors called gangliocytomas. This disease is due to a genetic mutation in a tumor suppressor gene, PTEN, found in Cowden syndrome, that causes multiple growths and tumors during the personโs life. Here we meet a patient with symptoms of increased brain pressure from his tumor who requires a shunt surgery and a tumor resection surgery for his Lhermitte-Duclos tumor.
