The most common treatment for endometrial cancer is a surgery known as hysterectomy to remove the woman's uterus. More and more of these operations are being done using minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy and robotics. Memorial Sloan-Kettering experts discuss the various surgical approaches to treating endometrial cancer.

When we are talking about surgery for this, is this something that we could do robotically or laparoscopically? Also, can you explain, so everyone is clear, that people use those methods interchangeably?
Endometrial and uterine cancer is really where robotic surgery has taken off. Standard laparoscopy is a means of accessing the pubic compartment of the peritoneal cavity we talked about with small incisions – that’s what laparoscopy is.
The difference between robotic surgery / DaVinci procedures is using small laparoscopic incisions but the robotic platform has a different type of camera.
Through these small incisions you are putting in instruments that are allowing you to operate as if your hands are in there?
As if you’re inside, exactly…
