Honoring Kellie Hinshaw
Congresswoman Ellmers had the opportunity to speak about her friend, Kellie Hinshaw, who recently lost her battle to Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Cancer. Kellie brought together communities of cancer survivors and families, including the Harnett County community. Many of Kellie's supporters were members of "Kellie's Krew" and participated in Kellie's Krew ACCRF Run for a Cure each year to support Kellie and others scarred by the disease. Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) is a rare cancer that most often strikes the bones in the face and neck, and even when cancer took her jawbone, Kellie stood up to praise God and spread the news of cancer awareness. Kellie was loved by her family and her community, and there will be a great void in our lives, but we are left with a heart full of love where Kellie has lived.
