Head and neck cancers include cancers in the larynx (voice box), throat, lips, mouth, nose and salivary glands. Symptoms can occur in the mouth, nose or throat and include a lump that doesn't heal, a persistent sore throat, trouble swallowing and changes in the voice. All tobacco products including cigars, cigarettes, pipes, etc are the causes of this cancer. To prevent this disease one should stop smoking, avoid alcohol and eat a well-balanced diet. There are three main treatments - radiation therapy, surgery and chemotherapy.
