Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST) - an overview - Dr. J. K. A. Jameel, Apollo Hospitals.
Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST) are rare mesenchymal tumours of the gut, known to arise from the interstitial cells of Cajal. They most commonly arise in the stomach and their management is quite different to that of epithelial tumours such as adenocarcinoma or squamous carcinoma.
This presentation at the "Ethicon GIST symposium" gives an overview of GIST and the current international guidelines in the management.
