Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)- The annual incidence of CML in India was originally reported to be 0.8 to 2.2 per 100,000 population which is 800-2200 cases.
The average age at diagnosis of CML is around 64 years. Almost half of cases are diagnosed in people 65 and older. This type of leukemia mainly affects adults, and is rarely seen in children.

A stem cell or bone marrow transplant is the only potential cure for CML, but it's a very intensive treatment and is not suitable for many people with the condition.

There's no known way to prevent most cases of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Some kinds of cancer can be prevented by making lifestyle changes and avoiding certain risk factors, but this is not true for most cases of CML.
