Probably one of the heaviest three-word phrases that no one wants to hear in their lifetime is “you have cancer.”

This leads to endless questions and potential treatment options that inevitably lead to even more questions.

One thing that many people may not consider when navigating this challenging diagnosis is how cancer and cancer treatments can impact swallowing.

Especially when it comes to head and neck cancer.

Today we’ll be talking about head and neck cancer and three main considerations medical SLPs should be aware of when assessing and treating swallowing.

We’ll talk about how we can guide our patients through their diagnosis and treatment planning as it relates to their changes in swallowing, as well.

Watch and Enjoy!
