๐ŸŽฆ ABOUT THIS VIDEO

Can liver cancer be cured completely?

Dr. Shabeerali T U (Consultant Gastrointestinal Surgeon, KIMS Trivandrum) explains that there are many options available for the treatment of liver cancer. A liver cancer arising with liver Cirrhosis or cirrhosis in an early stage, the patient has a very high chance of curing cancer if it's in the early stage, confined to one part of the liver by doing a resectional surgery or liver transplantation. If cancer has not progressed outside of the liver the patient can do liver transplantation, with a chance of 70% success rate. In the case of resectional surgery, the chance of curing liver cancer is 40% to 50%.

But if the tumor has progressed to blood vessels or other organs or the liver disease and tumor both are in advanced stage the chances of cure are less.
