Did you know? Your breasts each contain about 20 milk ducts!
When you’re pregnant or lactating, it is normal for small amounts of milk to leak out. The leakage can start early in pregnancy, and you could continue to see milk for up to 2 or 3 years after ending nursing.
But what about nipple discharge when you are not pregnant? Is nipple discharge normal? Is nipple discharge a sign of cancer?
If you are not pregnant or nursing, the sight of your breasts leaking can be alarming. But don’t panic! Most breast discharge is normal!
However, to be on the safer side it is always best to get it checked our from your doctor as it can be the earliest presenting symptom of breast cancer.
