Breast Cancer Screening for Women Veterans
Women Veterans have access to mammograms through VA.
Getting a screening mammogram can help find cancer at an early stage when it's easier to treat, giving you a better chance of being cured. At VA, we have made mammograms easily accessible for you. We offer mammograms on site at over 70 VA medical facilities nationwide. And if you are receiving care at a site without on-site mammography services, we offer screenings at conveniently located community facilities. If you have mobility issues, or trouble standing, donโt let that stop you. State-of-the-art technology and accessible equipment is designed to ensure you have access to the health screenings you need, including mammograms. Additionally, the recent SERVICE Act ensures that women Veterans who have deployed to certain locations, during certain times, can receive an evaluation of their breast cancer risk and a screening mammogram if it is clinically appropriate.
