Big Tongue Toddler Has Lifechanging Operation
ID: 1599241
A big tongued toddler has undergone life-changing surgery that will help him to eat, talk and breath more easily.
Baker Roth, from Jenks, Oklahoma, has Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS) – a rare overgrowth disorder that caused his tongue to double in size.
The muscle was so large that it could be spotted on pregnancy scans at 27 weeks, with it initially confused for him acting ‘cute’ by poking his tongue out.
But after being delivered eight-weeks early via emergency c-section the disorder was noticed, as well as other concerns, including a cancerous mass in his liver.
