The patient in this video is a 63 year old lady, a housewife. She was presented with a black mass on lateral aspect of the right lower eyelid; the mass was growing slowly for 5 years. She is from Guntur, India and is treated by Dr. Debraj Shome, oculoplastic and facial plastic surgeon and director of The Esthetic Clinics (http://www.theestheticclinic.com) and a consultant of Saifee Hospital and Apollo Spectra Hospital in Mumbai India. She is trained in USA, Singapore, Europe and India.

It is said a high index of suspicion of cancer must be maintained in any mass on the eyelid and face. The masses may appear small but cancer spreads beneath the normal skin.
An image in the video shows how much tissue will be removed when it is tested for cancer. A superior eyelid flap was taken to close the lower eyelid defect. A periosteal flap is raised and the posterior lamella of the eyelid created. An image in the video shows this.

6 weeks post operation, the eyes looks much symmetrical and the mass is removed. The patient according to the Doctor has been cancer free over 10 years of follow-up.
