After spending seven months in the hospital fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia and recovering from a bone marrow transplant, our dear friend Gavin was finally released to go home.
"He's had to deal with challenges that most people don't have to deal with in their entire life and it's made him an even more amazing and beautiful person," said Dr. Lisa Madden, transplant physician.
Gavin has spent many nights in the hospital over the last few years, but his most recent stay was exceptionally lengthy. As you can imagine, Gavin's care team has formed a special bond with him and his loved ones. It was a special day watching Gavin head home in style.
