A sad update to a story we've been following.

A Veteran in Cleveland who survived the Easter tornadoes in the Tennessee Valley has passed away.

We told you J-L Cross's story back in May.

The 74-year-old lost his home in the Easter tornadoes, but fellow veterans and a group called Operation Finally Home stepped in to help him rebuild.

Operation Finally Home tells us they learned Cross lost his battle with cancer on Sunday.

His new home was finished and he had been living there for about a week with his wife.
