Endometrial cancer, or uterine cancer, is the most common gynecological cancer. According to David Cohn, MD, Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the OSUCCC—James, the primary symptom of endometrial cancer is bleeding after menopause. To confirm diagnosis, a primary care physician or gynecologist will perform a simple biopsy of the uterus, often in their office or at an out-patient facility. Treatment for endometrial cancer typically involves a hysterectomy, with no subsequent chemotherapy required.
