In 2016, Ricard Siagian uploaded a YouTube video in which he detailed various symptoms he began experiencing shortly after taking Ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is now being prescribed less and less due to serious side effects. It doesn't seem that Ricard was suffering with sporadic or familial fatal insomnia, but his extreme lack of sleep may have caused or contributed to his eventual death.
