Julia Chisholm, PhD, FRCPCH, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, describes rhabdomyosarcoma as the most common soft-tissue sarcoma in children. At first presentation, treatment with chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy is carried out. However, Dr Chisholm explains, the situation is much more complex in relapsed or refractory rhabdomyosarcoma, with the chance of cure at relapse extremely small if the disease had already spread at first diagnosis. Better treatments are therefore urgently needed. This interview was recorded via an online conference call with The Video Journal of Oncology (VJOncology).
