Pulmonary small cell carcinoma - histopathology
- oat cell carcinoma
- poorly differentiated neuroendocrine cells
- associated with smoking
- typically central location
- paraneoplastic syndromes
- treated with chemotherapy
Histology:
- relatively small cells, salt and pepper chromatin, stippled chromatin, high nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio, scant basophilic cytoplasm, high mitotic activity, necrosis
