Shandi Wagner, 22, is a double-major graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, Class of 2009. This is a remarkable achievement, especially since Shandi underwent surgery to remove a spinal cord tumor in 2008. Doctors in Minnesota referred Shandi to the pediatric neurosurgery program of Michael Edwards, MD, chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.
