Ross Happell | Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) diagnosis story

Ross Happell is a familiar name here at Leukaemia Care, and today we want to take the time to celebrate the 35-year anniversary of his bone marrow transplant.
Ross was 20 when he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in 1986. His Christmas that year would be spent in hospital and he was later told in January that he would be lined up for an autologous transplant - a procedure that would use the healthy blood stem cells from his body to replace his diseased or damaged bone marrow.
After a delay due to an infection, Ross was finally able to have his transplant in March 1987.
Today, Ross no longer has to attend hospital, but still has blood tests.
