Expanded treatment options for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)

For patients diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia or A-M-L, traditional chemotherapy treatment options can’t be endured by many of the elderly patients. In a recent study, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Dr. Anthony Letai explains a drug Venetoclax combined with another drug azacytidine might offer an effective treatment option that will be easier to tolerate. The F-D-A recently granted accelerated approval for venetoclax for such A-M-L patients.
