Esophageal Transplant Frees Man from Feeding Tube, Restores Normalcy

Treatment for esophageal cancer meant that Gilbert Hudson lost a significant amount of weight, his esophagus and may have needed to live with a feeding tube for the rest of his life. Expert cancer surgeons at Stanford Hospital used Hudson's own small intestine to reconstruct the esophagus and give Hudson his quality of life back.
