Echo Assessment of Cardiac Amyloidosis

Objectives:
1. Review the pathophysiology and epidemiology of cardiac amyloidosis
2. Introduce a case of cardiac amyloid on echocardiography, while reviewing basic principles of 2D, Spectral Doppler and Colour Echo as they apply to the case.
3. Discuss principles of differentiating cardiac amyloidosis from other infiltrative heart diseases/causes of wall thickening.
4. Discuss emerging concepts in the evaluation of cardiac amyloidosis by echo.
