Deciding on enucleation as a treatment for childhood cancer of the eye

Enucleation, or surgical removal of the eye, is sometimes the best treatment choice for certain types of ocular cancer, including retinoblastoma. If the cancer is too advanced, the decision to remove the eye may be considered.
