When Debbie's daughter Sophie began to complain of headaches and a stiff neck, they thought her symptoms were most likely due to an uncomfortable university bed.

However, Debbie still urged Sophie to get her symptoms checked, a decision that would save Sophie's life.

Sophie is now in remission from B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-cell ALL) following pioneering CAR-T therapy. Here, Debbie recounts her experience of Sophie's diagnosis.
