This is a short treatment outcome awareness video of a limb salvage surgery for bone tumour by Dr Srimanth B S.
Giant cell tumour (GCT) is a rare, aggressive growing benign tumour of the bone, found in young adults.
A core needle biopsy was performed to obtain the diagnosis of GCT. An extended curettage (disease clearance with high speed burr) was done. Subsequent cavity in the upper end of femur was reconstructed with Bone Allograft reconstruction. We avoided any use of implants due to the satisfactory stability.
Adequate care must be taken when the tumour is close to the joint cartilage, so as to protect the joint surface of the hip. Return to activity is early in this mode of reconstruction, but with certain restrictions.

Master Prakhar, a 12-year-old boy, was suffering from cancer of a part of the immune system (Hodgkin's Lymphoma). He was admitted to the Metro Hospitals under Oncology Department for relapsed Lymphoma and was recommended to undergo Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Under the supervision of Dr. Sumant Gupta and Dr. Faran Naim, the most experienced BMT team in the region, the transplant was a success. Prakhar's never-ending pain has now reduced and he has now been discharged with follow-up advice. His family thanked the doctors and other hospital staff for the all-inclusive support with pre and post-operative care during the treatment.

Despite no known family history of cancer, JJ was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at only 27 years old. After brushing off abdominal pain for months, JJ went to the doctor. This led to an emergency CT scan and colonoscopy. He later found out his cancer was caused by Lynch syndrome, an inherited disorder that increases the risk of getting cancer.
In this conversation, JJ shares how only months after living a healthier lifestyle he was diagnosed with cancer, the surgical complications he endured and how he is now trying to break the stigma about colorectal cancer.

Today I discuss my colon cancer scare! This is just another health anxiety story of many that I tell in hopes with relating with you and helping you not feel so alone! I dealt with health anxiety for 5 long years! Being a hypochondriac crippled me and emotionally, mentally, physically and even financially! So how do we overcome anxiety or beat anxiety disorder? These are tips that you should be trying every single day to stop your anxiety! Dont skip any days and remember that there will still be bad days. Its how we handle the bad days, that determines how we progress in our mental health. First, discover and work on your root causes of anxiety! Practice gratitude everyday! Everyone has something to be thankful for! Make sure you are exercising daily, eating healthy, keeping a journal, taking a multivitamin, practicing meditation in the mornings and evenings, practicing cbt, keep counseling or therapy as an option, watch positive affirmation and asmr videos, join online support groups, and most importantly do this everyday and dont give up!
