This week’s video is about amyloid-beta, which can build up and cause deposits - or plaques - in the brain tissue of people with dementia. Researchers are hopeful that slowing or halting the development of plaques can stop Alzheimer’s Disease, or at least improve the symptoms of the disease.
I’m Dr. Marc, a board certified internist and geriatrician in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m asked so many questions about memory, dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease all the time by friends, co-workers, family and sometimes strangers when they find out what I do for a living. How dementia is diagnosed, treated, how it can be avoided or delayed, how to care for a loved one who has memory issues, what new technologies can help, and many more. Thanks for watching, for subscribing, and for caring about dementia and those who endure it every day.
