Vaccines for Cervical Cancer

Did you know that Cervical Cancers are one of the only cancers that can be prevented by vaccines?

In the previous videos of our kNOw CANCER series, Dr. Annapurna and Dr. Rekha discussed that the causative agent (carcinogen) for Cervical Cancers is a virus called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The good news is that there is a highly effective vaccine that when administered to girls between 9-15 years of age, can completely eliminate the risk of developing this cancer.
