According to Medical News Today, 1 in 2 women and 1 in 3 men in the US will develop cancer within their lifetime. Sadly, veterans are no exception.

When Michael “Bing” Crosby, a US Navy veteran, was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he was referred to the VA’s cancer treatment center in West LA. Despite the aggressive nature of his cancer, Michael Rettig, a medical oncologist with the Los Angeles VA, was able to help.

His team used cutting edge, precision oncology techniques to put Michael’s life-threatening cancer into remission. When he relapsed, the VA’s next-generation imaging technology was able to detect the site of the recurrence and restore his health yet again.
