Desmoid Fibromatosis 2022 update and how we practice in AIIMS, Delhi Sarcoma Medical Oncology
This video deals with clinical features, pathology, mutations, and treatment like sorafenib, pazopanib, chemotherapy, Gamma Secretase inhibitors, and cryoablation and microwave ablation in desmoid/fibromatosis tumors. Our Sarcoma Medical Oncology Clinic in AIIMS, New Delhi is maintaining a prospective database and we are doing active research on this rare tumor. We have compassionate basis programs available and soon clinical trials would be available. It is mandatory to have expert pathology and expert radiology for the treatment of this rare tumor. Active surveillance should be the preferred option in most tumors upfront except abdominal wall desmoid. Upfront surgery should not be done blindly and medical management is the treatment of choice if there is a progression in the tumor.
