Reviewing the use of extracorporeal photopheresis in treating CTCL

Francine Foss, MD, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT, discusses the role of extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) in the treatment of patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), especially in Sézary syndrome. A retrospective analysis of patients receiving ECP was performed to assess which patient characteristics affected outcomes, and Prof. Foss emphasizes how the data can refine the use of ECP within the treatment landscape, especially when it is combined with interferons or retinoids.
