One confusing aspect of parathyroid disease is that you can have a parathyroid tumor and a completely normal parathyroid hormone (PTH) level. Think of the parathyroid glands as the thermostat for your body's calcium. In this video I explain why a "normal" PTH level is NOT normal if your calcium is high.
