NYer of the Week: Andrew DiSimone Donates Wigs for Cancer

Andrew DiSimone was voted "New Yorker of the Week" for donating wigs to those with medical hair loss, such as cancer, alopecia and skin burns.

FreeWigsforKids.org is a non-profit program founded by Andrew DiSimone. Through this program , Andrew "prescribes" wigs to patients that cannot afford to purchase a wig. He also cuts/styles the wig, and teaches them how to care for it in his Manhattan hair salon. For those that do purchase a wig, Andrew helps them file an insurance claim.

With your help, we can make a new wig for a child in need. We accept gently-used wigs, ponytails and monetary donations.
