Meet William Houser

William Houser had no idea a growth on his right hip would lead to Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of skin cancer that has spread. He had to undergo radiation for a tumor on his heart. Because of cardiovascular complications, he has been seen in the Moffitt-USF Health Cardio-Oncology Program, which has the expertise to better care for these patients.

“I want to make sure I get at least 15 more years of retirement, but I know they’re giving me the best. … My glass is half full,” William says.
