Patients with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), show no signs of the disease early on. Bile duct cancer usually presents at an advanced stage, which carries a poor prognosis. New advances in medical treatment offer hope. Milind Javle, M.D., associate professor in Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, discusses new therapies for bile duct cancer, including, immunotherapy and gene mutation profiling.
