Larynx Cancer Survivor, Former St Dominic Hospital Patient Eaker Washington tells his story.

Eaker Washington's melodious tenor voice not only earned him a spot in the church choir, it was one of his defining trademarks.

When cardiology specialist doctors Guangzhi Qu and Al Johnson delivered the news that his days in the choir could be over, due to cancer in his epiglottis, the small cartilage lid that covers the windpipe, it was a devastating blow. Eaker was treated at St Dominic's Cancer Center with RapidArc radiotherapy. Today, because of Washington's larynx cancer treatment at St Dom's in Jackson, Mississippi, he still sings every Sunday.
