Impact and role of radiotherapy in the management of MCC

Paul Nghiem, MD, PhD, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, gives an overview of the early management of merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), higlighting the importance of a baseline PET scan. Prof. Ngheim reports that one in six patients with MCC will have an upstaging with a baseline PET scan. FInally, Prof. Ngheim discusses challenges around the integration of radiotherapy and surgery.
