How my wife’s anal cancer journey changed my outlook

When Michele Longabough was diagnosed with anal cancer, her husband Jerry realized his wife was a fighter. During her anal cancer treatment, Michele became an outspoken advocate for this rarely discussed cancer. Jerry has been with her to support her every step of the way. Today, Michele is cancer-free and still focused on raising anal cancer awareness. And Jerry is still there to support her. Every six months, the couple makes the drive from Kansas to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for Michele’s follow-up appointments.
