How do you manage symptoms in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma?

Dr Carrie Van Der Weyden discussed the challenges that cutaneous T-cell lymphoma can bring many patients. It is a rare lymphoma that the nature and symptoms of the cancer can affect the quality of life for many patients, as the cancer is very visible involving the skin.
Symptoms management is very important for these patients, ensuring that their symptoms are managed in the best way possible. It is important that the right creams, lotions and dressing are known to the patient and their treating team.
At Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and Westmead Hospital in Sydney are two specialist multidisciplinary teams that provide support for this patient group. They are very welcome to receive referrals and phone calls for patients, carers and health professionals to contact to receive advice, even if they are not a patient from the hospital.
Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma can also have a large psychological impact for many patients and their loved ones. It is important that you seek help to ensure that your mental health is also cared for.
