Dr. Brittany Bychkovsky , Instructor of Medicine, Breast Oncology and Cancer Genetics at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, reviews the history of breast cancer genetics and how our knowledge of cancer genetic syndromes has advanced over the last three decades. She also discusses who should be tested considering current clinical guidelines and the various testing options that are available in 2019. Dr. Bychkovsky also presents the difference between moderate and high-penetrance genes and how identified cancer genetic mutations affect screening recommendations and risk-reducing options.
