Hair donation to gift wigs for cancer patients

Giving journey can start with anything that you can give. One of our young volunteers, Pranjal had grown hair during Covid times. He loved his curly locks and it had become his identify to a large extent. But when he learnt about the hair donation for cancer patients, he did not think twice to donate his hair.

But is length of the hair sufficient? Can curly hair be donated? What is the procedure? Which organizations collect donated hair? Is it really a genuine need? The search to find all answers began!

The minimum hair length required is 6 inches at least though many organizations need much longer hair. So, he had to wait for some more months before he could donate. But he did, and donated the hair and joined the #ShareCut campaign by AarogyaSeva.
