Fellow appendix cancer survivor here. They found mine when I was rushed to ER screaming in pain with suspected ovarian cyst rupture and found no ovarian cysts, but rather one incredibly distended appendix. Inside was taken up by a big tumor. They told me they were afraid to go over any bumps with the gurney on the way to the OR because it was so close to bursting. I had been in pain for a couple months, mostly around my periods, so the docs blew it off as menstrual pain that I was exaggerating (I was 17 so I think they thought I wanted attention). Many scans and tests as well, and no spread. I'm glad you stayed on top of your health and got your hernia looked at!
