Although exercise has been shown to benefit people during and after cancer treatment, survivors can face a number of unique issues that should be considered before planning an exercise regimen. Annelise Savodnik, a physical therapist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, explains safety issues if you have lymphedema, bony metastasis, osteoporosis, brain tumors, loss of sensation in the extremities, or low blood cell counts.
