Etude 19. Pediatric pilocytic astrocytoma in posterior fossa.
15 y,w. Headache and vomiting for 2 months. Otherwise neurological status intact.
Surgery in sitting position. Midline suboccipital craniotomy.
After tumor removal no new deficits, swallowing normal.
CSF leakage from the wound 10 days postop, which was treated successfully with lumbar drain within few days.
1,5 yrs outcome: neurologically intact, on MRI no residual neither re-growth of the tumor.
