The endocrine system is a complex network of glands that produce hormones and help regulate bodily functions. The parathyroid gland is a gland that makes a hormone called parathyroid hormone (PTH).

When there's too much or too little PTH with your patient, they could have hyperparathyroidism or hypoparathyroidism.
