In this video, we will discuss the pathology of ductal carcinoma in situ and Lobular carcinoma in situ.
Carcinoma In situ means that there is proliferation of neoplastic epithelial cells that do not invade the basement membrane.
Ductal carcinoma Insitu converts the lobules into duct like spaces while lobular carcinoma Insitu expands the lobules thus preserving the lobular architecture.
Ductal carcinoma in situ morphologically presents as comedo and non comedo ductal carcinoma in situ.
