Alexander Lesokhin, MD, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, shares some insights into how diet may impact the progression of multiple myeloma and its precursors. Dr Lesokhin first notes that questions from patients around how they can support their treatment with dietary changes are often poorly addressed because of the lack of clear, definitive studies. Following this, Dr Lesokhin describes studies which suggest that the consumption of more plant-based dietary products may benefit treatment outcomes, but highlights the need for further investigation into these effects. This interview took place at the 64th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress held in New Orleans, LA.
